Research connection

Throughout the course of this class we have learned about many different themes that we see in Political Psych. One of those themes that we read about was The Crowd. We discussed the crowd and understood that it was a way of really trying to fit into a group. People try to fit into groups so that they have support from others and don't really stand out. I am able to connect The Crowd - In group/Out group back to the Impacts of Social Media, which I would then tie back to both Love & Belonging and Safety in Maslow's hierarchy. On social media people may try to fit in more to feel as if they are not left out, and when an individual is part of a group they may believe that they have some sort of safety from this group of people.
